Editorial Staff


TRS-80 portable computer
TRS-200, modem and case as used by staff
Editorial staff took these Tandy TRS-80 and later TRS-200 into the field, wrote the story and transmitted the article to the central system. Today the staff use laptop computers like Toshiba 400CDS
Netcomm Modem 2400 bps
Due to the difference in communication laws in Australia and USA, we had to connect these modem to the Tandy TRS-80 to transmit the story.
Accoustic coupler for handsets
Even a earlier model  of Accoustic coupler.
Accoustic coupler were used where the staff member had to use a hand piece of a telephone to send the story. These devices had a maxium speed of 300bps.
Portable recorders
For the door stop interviews the staff had the portable tape recorders

Toshiba T1200

Toshiba T1200 with early Rebus software
Toshiba T1200 was used with the early verison of Rebus software. They had to have an external modem.

Toshiba Laptop PC

Later replacement for the Tandy TRS80s
Later replacement for the Tandy TRS-80s and the early Toshiba computers.
Most of the editorial equipment was donated to the Gunnedah Rural Museum NSWfor the computer section
