Two way services

The introduction of two way services gave the client the opportunity to recieve depth of Market and Historical information.
For the Brisbane area, concentrators were installed in the communication room on the 7th floor of Riverside. In the racks were installed Intel 486 Panthers (with 8 meg of ram using OS2 software and internal router card and 10Base2 network) and Decrouters 200 for the serial connection to the Telstra modem 9k6 bps. Digital pathworks software was used for communications to Glebe Sydney.

In the field

The server base PC used a Windows NT3.5 and then NT3.51 operating system and workstations were Mircrosoft Windows 3.0 and later windows 3.11 using the TCP/IP protocol.

AMQ by Winframe

Some of the sites tried using ICA winframe protocol to deliver the AMQ product. The AMQ product was built for LAN circuits so when it was tried on a WAN (wide area network), the way it structured caused heavy traffic loading on client networks. Some clients took a winframe solution to allow there remote offices to get depth of Market and Customer Id trading. The client that tried this method were Lance Jone, Henderson Charlton using ICA (TCP/IP protocol) and also Nevitts who tried using ICA (IPX protocol). In Brisbane, a Virtual Private Network (VPN) was set up between AAPIS, AAPT and Henderson offices in Northern Queensland. This require a winframe server in the communications room, router connection to the AAPT widearea network of which Henderson Chartons were a client and then using the clients local PCs in the remote offices with ICA TCP/IP protocol to recover the information.
