My thought while on the train going to St Johns.

Good morning All,
Today I am heading into Brisbane to attend “A celebration of Ministry”. The gent was Malcolm Francis Bell an Anglican minister.
I first met Malcolm when he became the Honorary Member - Chaplain to the Motor Neurone Society of Qld - later known as the "Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland". After we lost Dad to MND I again met up with Malcolm in our local Parish church, while he stood in for our local minister.
Malcolm lived at Shorncliffe about a mile as the crow flies.
We got on well did not talk much about religion, but I became his computer technician and use to drop in on him when I was visiting the dog park with Kirra for a cuppa. You knew he was up as the smoke from his cigar could be smelt down the street.
He was a lover of music and played several instruments. I remember when he saved 2 pianos from a recycler yard.
Malcolm had an interesting life and was a thorn in the side of authority (rouge).
He was very much involved with the First Nations people on Stradbroke Island and Sudanese families.
Fishing was his recreation of choice, use to go out into the bay in this very small boat and sometime slept on the water while trying to catch local flathead fish.
It seemed to be a way to talk to his maker, free and away from the world.
He enjoyed coming around to play pool with us. He was building always correcting building materials to take to Stradbroke where he was building a centre for his brothers and sisters, in memory of an elder.
Malcolm's home was called the “Hermitage”. A very early cottage of the Shorncliffe area, used to breed ducks, chooks, grew his own food and had a very interesting selection of plants.
He now walks with the best.
Check out my contribution to his life at my website http://www.yoweeenterprises.com/fr-malcolm-bell.html
Cheers and stay safe
Adrian
